Measure around the narrowest point (usually just above your naval) Keeping the tape slightly loose.
Inside Leg
Run the tape measure from the top of the inside leg at the crotch to just below the ankle.

I am a size 12 and bought a large as I wanted plenty of room. They feel nice and look nice but the quality of the seams are not very good, see photos, bearing in mind the fit is loose and I only wore them once
